Q:How can I make a reservation?
A:

Please click “Internet reservation” on the left center of the Top page to see various accommodation plans. Select a desired plan, check for availability, and then go to the next page.
If you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or by e-mail. You can also send us your questions via our inquiry form.

Q:Some of us stay only for dinner and do not stay overnight at the hotel. How can I make the reservation?
A:

There is a request entry area on the accommodation form. Please enter how many people stay only for dinner and do not stay overnight on the form.

Rates

Q:Do you include the consumption tax or service charge in the rates?
A:

We do not take service charge. All rates are displayed without tax.

Q:How much is a room rate?
A:

The room rates are determined based on the season, day of the week, how many people in one room, and meal.
For more information, please refer to Charges.

Q:We have small children. What is the room rate?
A:

We regret that we do not accept children under the age of 6. Children over the age of 6 are charged at 70 % of the usual room rate.

Q:I have to check out early before breakfast. Can I cancel breakfast?
A:

Yes. If you made a reservation by phone or through the YUTONE Web site, please inform us by 18:00 p.m. night before your arrival date. We will reduce 1,620 yen (including tax) from the accommodation fee.
Please note:
If you reserved an accommodation plan with Japanese breakfast made by our master chef Oshima from our Web site, we will reduce 540 yen (including tax) from the accommodation fee.
If you made a reservation for a special accommodation plan, or through other Web sites or travel agencies, the cancellation may not be available. For more information, please contact us.

Q:How can I get to the hotel by car?
A:

It takes 7 km from the Kyoto-Higashi IC or 8 km from Kyoto-Minami IC on the Meishin Expressway.
Go straight 600 m to north from Todaiji-gojo and turn right at the traffic light (there is a sign of “Kodaiji Minamimon dori”). Pass the stoned torii gate and go straight for 150 m. You will see Maeda Coffee on your right. Our hotel is just next to the café.

Q:Do you have onsite parking?
A:

No, we do not have onsite parking. There is a private parking lot nearby.

Q:How can I get to the hotel by JR?
A:

From the JR Kyoto station, you need to take a taxi to our hotel. It costs about 1,100 yen (3.2 km).
Just tell a taxi driver to turn east at Kodaiji minamimon dori and go straight for about 150 m to Maeda Coffee.

Q:How can I get to the hotel by Keihan line?
A:

The nearest station on Keihan line is “Gion-shijo.” It takes about 4 minutes (1.1 km) and costs about 600 yen by taxi or about 15 minutes on foot.

Q:How can I get to the hotel by Hankyu Kyoto line?
A:

The nearest station on Hankyu Kyoto line is “Kawaramachi.” It takes about 5 minutes (1.3 km) and costs about 650 yen by taxi or about 20 minutes on foot.
You can enjoy walking around a shopping mall and Minamiza in the traditional Gion district.

Q:How far is it from Yasaka Shine to the hotel?
A:

It takes 5 minutes (400 m) from Yasaka Shine on foot. Walk straight to south from the main (south) gate. The hotel is just next to Maeda Coffee.

Guest rooms and Bath

Q:Is there a room with an open-air bath?
A:

All rooms have a cypress wood bath but not an open-air bath.

Q:Are there bath towels and hand towels in the room?
A:

Yes. Waffle weave bath towels are also available.

Q:How about shampoo, conditioner, and shower cap?
A:

Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower cap, razor, and other amenities are available in the room.

Q:Is there a humidifier in the room?
A:

Humidifiers are provided in each room.

Meal and Restaurant

Q:I have food allergies or dislikes. Can you accommodate them?
A:

Yes, we can accommodate them. Please let us know when making your reservation.
Please note that if you are allergic to rice, gluten, and soy, or you cannot have Japanese soup stock (bonito and dry kelp), we may not be able to accommodate them.

Q:How do the meals differ from each other?
A:

The quality (e.g. the food ingredients and contents) improves in the more expensive dinner version.

Q:We would like to have the best food you can offer.
A:

Please choose the chef's choice special Kaiseki meal (it is a bit expensive).

Q:Where can I have meals?
A:

You can have meals in the restaurant called “Gochiso Kikusaya” on the first floor. We do not serve meals in the room.

Q:I have a sore knee. Can I use a chair in the restaurant?
A:

There are only tables and chairs in the restaurant

Q:We will arrive late. Until what time is dinner served?
A:

Dinner is served at 19:30 p.m. latest.

Q:We have to depart early next morning. From what time can we have breakfast?
A:

Breakfast is served at 8:00, 8:30, and 9:00 a.m. We cannot offer breakfast before 8:00 a.m.
If you have to depart early and cannot have breakfast, you can change your plan to non-breakfast plan. We can refund your payment only if you let us know 3 days prior to your arrival date.

Others

Q:What is your cancellation policy?
A:

Cancellation notice must be made 7 days prior to your arrival date. Certain special days require 20 days cancellation notice prior to your arrival date. Please refer to Terms and Conditions.

Q:Can I smoke in the hotel?
A:

We are a non-smoking hotel and ask that guests refrain from smoking in throughout the hotel.

Q:Can I use a credit card?
A:

We accept the following cards: VISA, JCB, DC, UC, AMEX, Diners, Master, SAISON, Debit Card

Q:Can you keep my luggage before Check-in or after Check-out?
A:

Yes. We keep your luggage.

Q:Please tell me the sizes of bed and bathtub, number of stairs, and so on.
